What is a Sentinel?

CPCSSN collects health information from electronic medical records in the offices of participating primary care providers – who we call sentinels.

Over 400 family physicians and nurse practitioners in collaborative practices with family physicians across Canada are enrolled in CPCSSN.

These sentinels are reporting and receiving data about their practices and how they compare to other primary care practices in their region and the rest of the country. This will improve patient care.
